16 people injured after taxi and SUV accident

An accident this morning between a taxi and an SUV east of Johannesburg left sixteen people injured.

ER24 Spokesperson Russel Meiring said paramedics from ER24 Johannesburg east branch arrived on scene and found both the taxi and SUV parked on the side of the road, occupants from the taxi were found sitting on a nearby pavement.

Meiring said on assessment paramedics discovered that 16 patients were found on scene with injuries ranging from minor to moderate. Paramedics set up a staging area on scene and treated the patients for their injuries.

Meiring said once they treated the patients, the patients were transported to various hospitals for further treatment.
