Eskom to implement stage two load shedding from 4’o clock

Eskom has announced that it will start implementing stage two load shedding as from 16:00pm this afternoon until 22:00pm.

This is due to planned and unplanned maintenance on several generators.

The cold weather in some parts of the country is also contributing to increase usage of electricity.

Eskom Spokesperson Khulu Phasiwe said the reason for this is that some of our generators are not operating optimal and as a result we cannot generator enough to capacity to meet the current demands.

“We are adding all customers where possible to switch off non-essential appliances so that we can reduce pressure on the power system.” Phasiwe added.
