Limpopo police are on a manhunt for four prisoners aged between 26 and 43-years-old who escaped before appearing in the Modjadiskloof Periodical Court on Wednesday in Tzaneen.

Police Spokesperson Colonel Moastshe Ngoepe said these suspects were arrested during our special operations over the weekend. They were found to be illegal foreign-nationals in the country.

Ngoepe said we are still profiling them to check if they were ever wanted for other crimes previously.

Police are still unclear on how the four prisoners managed to escape under police guard.
