A taxi accident this morning on Johan Le Roux Road in Meyerton near Vanderbijlpark left fourteen people injured.

ER24 Spokesperson Russel Meiring said ER24 paramedics, along with other services, arrived on the scene and found the wrecked taxi wedged up against a residence wall.

The occupants of the taxi were found walking around on the scene.

Meiring said paramedics assessed the patients on scene and found that 14 people had sustained injuries ranging from minor to moderate.

He added that paramadics treated and stabilised the patients on scene for their injuries and thereafter transported them to nearby hospitals for urgent medical treatment. Fire services were also on scene to offer their assistance.

The exact details to the cause of the accident will remain the subject of a police investigation.
