A body of 72 year old found in Buffeljags

 National Sea Rescue Institute responded to reports of a boat capsized at Buffeljags between Pearly Beach and Quoin point near Hermanus, where a 72 year old man was missing.

NSRI Spokesperson Craig Lambinon said a 64 year old man had managed to get to shore and raised the alarm.

Lambinon added that on arrival on scene following a search the body of a man was located and recovered and declared deceased by paramedics.

He also said that it appears the boat had been capsized by a wave.

The police have opened an inquest docket.
