The African National Congress in the Western Cape has called for swift action against Provincial Government officials who are responsible for shortage of text book and exam postponement at Maitland High School.

Learners marched last week demanding text books saying it has been five months without any books.

It is alleged that the Western Cape Department of Education postponed mid-year exams due to the shortage of text books.

ANC PEC Member Siyabulela Tom said they call on Education MEC to personally ensure that the officials deliver the textbook to the school during the week and that made public.

“We demand also the official responsible for this to be suspend with immediate effect.” Tom added.
