The Democratic Alliance has expressed its disappointment of the neglect by the Tourism Complaints Officer regarding the impact the new visa regulations are having on the tourism sector.

DA’s James Vos said it is important that the tourism industry is protected from overbroad and untested job-killing visa regulations.

Vos said these new travel regulations have already proved serious consequences on our tourism economy and as our brand as a country of leisure and business tourism.

“And therefore the dismissal of the tourism compliance officer to ultimately investigate my complaint that these travel regulations must be suspended and that they must be reviewed, it’s very disappointing to say the least and I will be considering taking further action because it our job to protect the tourism industry because ultimately, tourism creates job in our country” Vos added.
