Deputy President Cyril Ramaphosa has called on the Economic Freedom Fighters to withdraw or provide proof of claims the party made in Parliament on Wednesday regarding his relationship with the power utility Eskom.

EFF leader Julius Malema said Ramaphosa was milking the state as he benefited personally from Eskom’s war room.

Deputy President’s Spokesperson Ronnie Mamoepa said firstly it is a public knowledge that, Deputy President Ramaphosa is diverted from Shanduka Group and holds no mining interests.

It is a consequence of a process that he initiated to move the potential for any conflict of interest.

“The Deputy President was assigned by cabinet in December 2015 to lead the Eskom War Room which is focused solely on the implementation of government strike on plan to address the current electricity constraints in the country and does not plan to benefit personally in this process” Mamoepa added.
