South coast hotel fire leaves three transported to hospital

Six people were treated for smoke inhalation after a fire broke out in a room at a hotel in St Michaels this morning.

ER24 spokesman Chris Botha said when ER24 arrived and found the fire department busy fighting the fire.

Botha added that paramedics treated six people, all for smoke inhalation. Three of them were later transported through to hospital for further care.

“The SAP and fire department is launching an investigation to the cause of the actual fire.” Botha concluded.

The exact cause to the incident will remain the subject of a police investigation.
