64-year-old arrested for setting her boyfriend alight

A 64-year-old suspect has been arrested for the murder of her boyfriend in Masakhane Street in Kanana, Klerksdorp after she consulted a traditional doctor to give her something that would kill her boyfriend.

The suspect is expected to appear in the Orkney Magistrate Court tomorrow on a charge of murder.

Sergeant Kelebogile Moleko said it is further alleged that the suspect returned back home and poisoned her boyfriend, but he did not die, and eventually burnt him to death.

Afterwards the suspect placed the body of her boyfriend in a plastic bag and hide him inside the garage.

Moleko said the suspect allegedly called a traditional healer informing him that she had killed her boyfriend and needed transport to go and throw the body in the river.

The traditional healer informed the police about the incident and the suspect was arrested.

The diseased body was found inside the garage and post-mortem needs to be done, Moleko added.
