DA calling for the suspension of SAA Chairperson Dudu Myeni’s

Lusanda Bill
28 July 2015

The Democratic Alliance is calling on the Minister of Finance Nhlanhla Nene to suspend the Chairperson of the South African Airways and institute an investigation into Dudu Myeni’s tenure as a SAA board member.

Myeni has been accused of selling meetings with President Jacob Zuma for thousands of rands at a time.

The DA believes Myeni’s tenure has been riddled with controversy since her appointment last year.

DA MP of Public Enterprises Natasha Mazzone said pending an outcome of an investigation into alleged mismanagement going on in the airline, we feel this is a serious incident which must be investigated.

“Treasury has taken over as custodian of SAA and therefore we expect Minister Nene to act without any hesitation in suspending her immediately and instituting an investigation” Mazzone added.
