The Democratic Nursing Organisation of South Africa has applauded nurses for their tireless work in the fight against HIV/Aids.

A recent United Nations Aids report shows South Africa had as many as 350,000 new HIV infections this year alone. The report also showed a decrease in new HIV infections as of end of 2014.

Denosa Acting General Secretary Madithapo Masemola said since the initiation of treatment by nurses we have success in this regard, to make sure that most patient in the country are covered by ART.

Masemola said this is a good story to tell because it is helping us to reach our target as far as the MDG are concerned.
