25 people injured after 16 vehicles including a truck collided

25 people were injured on Sunday afternoon after about 16 vehicles, including a truck, collided on the N4 Highway in Mpumalanga.

ER24 spokesperson Russel Meiring said ER24 paramedics as well as other services responded on the sene.

He said, “On our arrival we found the highway completely blocked by numerous wrecked vehicles. On assessment we found that at least 25 people had sustained injuries ranging from minor to moderate.

Meiring said we treated the patients with injuries and transported them to various hospitals for further medical attention.

He added that it is understood that a nearby veld fire is one of the factors that contributed to the cause of the collision.


Local authorities were on scene to close the highway for safety and for further investigations, he concluded
