Today, WC MEC of Human Settlement Bonginkosi Madikizela handed over energy efficient houses to beneficiaries in Delft.

The project, when complete, will deliver 1 951 units of which more than 820 have already been handed over.

He said the houses are constructed using new Alternative Building Technology materials, which have many thermal qualities superior to conventional brick and mortar houses.

13 energy efficient houses handed over to beneficiaries of the Delft, 3 and 5 housing project.

MEC Madikizela said this is the project that we started more than two years ago, which will bring 1951 units and the only project we are using for Alternative Building Technology materials.

“We are very happy to bring the project, because we are responding in most of the challenges of global warming using green technology, especially when we are facing challenges of electricity shortage.” Madikizela added.
