A pedestrian has been left in a critical condition after he was hit by a car in the Pretorius Street in Pretoria early this morning.

Netcare 911 spokesperson Chris Botha said, “We arrived and we found that the motor vehicle had left the scene. The man was lying in the middle of the road with very critical injuries. Paramedics stabilised him on scene. And after placing him on the ventilator, they transported him to a nearby hospital for further treatment.”

Exact details are still speculative, however, reports from the scene indicate that it was a hit and run accident.
