The Public Transport Voice and the Right2Know Campaign is highly disappointed at Metrorail’s unjust decision to postpone a meeting that was scheduled for Friday without a decency to inform them.

Cape Metrorail Regional Manager, Richard Walker was set to meet them on Friday to discuss issues of safety, accountability and the reliability of trains in the region.

According to Walker’s personal assistant, walker had to attend an urgent board meeting in Gauteng. PTV’s spokesperson Zingisani Nkanjeni said we have wrote a letter to the Minister of Transport to intervene on problems that Prasa is sitting with.

Nkanjeni said they have never had any formal response from the Minister and believe that really there is no political will in terms of addressing these problems.

“’We continue to see the problems that we are sitting with today”, Nkanjeni concluded.
