Roodepoort Primary School protest leaves five people injured

At least five people were injured this morning during the protests at the Roodepoort Primary School, West of Johannesburg.

ER24 spokesperson Russel Meiring said, “ER24 paramedics arrived on the scene and found that a number of the public on the scene as well as a heavy SAPS presence. On assessment, we found that at least five people had sustained minor to moderate injuries due to what was reported to us as rubber bullets.”

Meiring added that the patients were immediately removed to a staging are away from the protests and treated for their injuries.

The patients have taken to nearby facilities.

Local authorities were on scene for further investigations.
