Three people killed in road tragedies and others injured

Two women were knocked down by a car at the corner of Anvil and Industry roads in Isando on Thursday night.

ER24 spokesperson Chitra Bodasing said when ER24 paramedics arrived on the scene they found the women, believed to be 24 and 27 years of age, sitting on the road.

Bodasing said, ”Paramedics assessed the patients. One of the patients was found to have sustained serious injuries and the other was found to have sustained moderate injuries.“

“They were treated and transported to hospital for further medical care..” Bodasing added

Meanwhile, three people were killed and two sustained serious injuries in a collision between two vehicles on the N1 north about 45km outside Bloemfontein this morning. 

ER24 spokesperson Chitra Bodasing said when ER24 services and other paramedics arrived on the scene they found one vehicle lying on its roof whilst the second vehicle had veered off the road.

Three people were trapped in the vehicle that veered off the road. Unfortunately they sustained fatal injuries and were declared dead. Fire and rescue services were on scene to extricate them from the vehicle.

A passenger from the same vehicle was found to have sustained serious injuries.Another patient, from the second vehicle, also sustained serious injuries.

"They were treated and transported to hospital for further medical care." Chitra added

The exact cause of the collision is unknown, however, authorities were on scene for further investigations.
