Two students injured in collision outside Carletonville

Two 21-year-old students were injured in a collision on the R54 and R500 intersection near Carletonville Friday evening.

The collision occurred approximately 20 kilometres outside Carletonville. The students’ injuries range from critical to moderate.

 ER24 spokesperson Pieter Rossouw said both occupants were 21 year-old-students and their injuries ranged from critical to moderate.

Rossouw said “ER24 paramedics treated and transported one patient to Mediclinic Vereeening for further treatment. The other patient was transported by the other services to the same hospital.”


The cause of the incident remains unknown, however local authorities were on scene for further investigation, Rossouw added.
