Today, Western Cape MEC of Health, Dr Nomafrench Mbombo and MEC of Transport and Public Works, Donald Grant will welcome the Phelophepha Health Care Train in De Doorns.

Spokesperson for the MEC Coleen Smart says, the Phelophepha Health Care train has reached 23.5 million people in South Africa since it rolled out in 1994.

She said, the health-care services provided from the train are largely free of charge and offered to an exceptionally low cost to communities in rural areas.

Colleen also added, the train will be stationed in De Doorns as of today, up until the 25th of August. This train is a beacon of hope to many rural areas that not really get to access health care services within the arrears.

“There will be access to eye, dental, the psychology clinic and cancer screening” Smart said.
