ANC denounces vigilantism in Masiphumelele Township

The ANC released a statement condemning a spate of murders and rapes in the Masiphumelele Township near Ocean View.

Among those crimes, the political party noted the shocking rape and murder of a 14-year-old boy and the gang rape of a 15-year-old girl.

Reactionary violence occurred within the township when vigilantes killed three suspects.

ANC Provincial Secretary Faiez Jacobs said “we are asking the vigilantism to stop and we understand the concerns of our the communities.

We also are calling on community to work with the police to ensure that the perpetrators are brought to book and they express our condolences to the family and friends of the victims,” Jacobs added.
