A Cavendish jewellery Store has been robbed. The armed robbery took place before midday today.

This is the second time in less than two years that robbers have targeted a store in the shopping centre.

Management at the shopping complex has confirmed that no one was wounded during the robbery, and no shots were fired when seven armed men robbed the store.

They say all stores are secure and operational, and police are investigating the incident.

Meanwhile the Castle Hotel in Canterbury Street was robbed yesterday by a gang of four armed robbers after 6am.

Police say the gunmen took cellphones and an undisclosed amount of money.

Police Captain FC Van Wyk reported that four unidentified men went into a jewellery store, threatened staff and smashed display cabinets.

"The smoke alarms were activated and the suspects managed to flee the scene with watches from the store," Van Wyk added.

Van Wyk mentioned that an armed robbery case was opened.
