The Congress of the People has called on Minister of Sports and Recreation, Fikile Mbalula to inform South Africa whether he had requested and obtained details from United States authorities regarding allegations of bribery by South Africa.

COPE spokesperson Dennis Bloem said now is the right time for Mbalula to come clean.

Bloem explained that Minister Fikile Mbalula should accept that South Africa paid a bribe and should assist the Swiss and the US authorities with all the information at its disposal.

“By assisting he will help to clean up soccer at international level. If he seeks to hide the truth he will be an accessory to crime. The truth will come out. “ Bloem concluded
