Homeless man saves a man from drowning

A homeless man came to the rescue of a 37 year old man after a near drowning incident at a beach in Sea Point.

It is understood that a homeless man had witnessed the patient struggling in the water. He then run and dived into the water and pulled the man to safety.

ER24 Spokesperson Russel Meiring said paramedics responded to the beach, and on arrival, they found that metro services had just began their treatment of the male patient.

Meiring added that they assisted with the treatment before the patient was immobilised and transported to New Somerset Hospital for further treatment.
