Man found in veld with severe injuries

ER24 treated a man found in a veld this morning with severe injuries understood to have been sustained during an assault.

The man believed to be in his 40’s, was found in a veld at the corner of Nellmapius Drive and Main Road in Irene.

ER24 spokesperson Chitra Bodasing explained that paramedics assessed the man and found that he sustained multiple injuries.

He was treated and transported to hospital for further medical care.

It is understood that two other people, found at a nearby filling station, who were also apparently assaulted were treated by other services.

 Authorities were on scene for further investigations Bodasing concluded.
