MEC opens new Fish Hoek office

The Western Cape Department of Social Development launched the department’s newest local office in Fish Hoek.

MEC Albert Fritz launched the new facility on Monday morning.

Ministerial Spokesperson Sihle  Ngobese said, the department remains committed to bringing services closer to communities, and continuously improving the quality of services for residents in the province.

“The community of Fish Hoek suffers high levels of substance abuse mainly tik, heroin and alcohol, homelessness and child related issues, and this will play an instrumental role in beginning to tackle these issues in conjunction with other social department such Ngos and the police,” Ngobese said


“As we open this office, we are trusting that the community themselves will bring themselves closer to these services and use them because we can only tackle Fish Hoek social challenging if we work better together.” Ngobese added.
