Constable Solly Maluleke and Warrant Officer Samuel Mchizama are the latest police officers to be killed on the job in Soweto.

The men were stationed at the Moroko Police Station.

The Police and Prisons Civil Rights Union believes the killings were conducted in an effort to instil fear in officers and aid the agenda of private security firms.

POPCRU spokesperson Richard Mamabolo said “And now we obviously call on the government to do more in ensuring that action is being taken instead of having speeches. . . We will obviously be working with the police to ensure that they establish good relations with the society.”
