The South African Municipal Workers’ Union is angered after hearing of the alleged exploitation and dangerous working conditions of security workers in the City of Matlosana are face with daily.
SAMWU say these allegation come after the municipality signed a security contact with Tshireletso Professional Services.

TPS is paid more than R 1 million for the service they provide at different water plants. Tshireletso has so far received more than R25 million rand.

“SAMWU therefore demand that the City of Motlosana immediately terminate the security contact with Tshireletso Professional Services as there is nothing professional about the services which they are rendering.”

“Under their watch, municipal property of almost a million rand has been stolen and vandalised because criminals know that security guards are issued with toy guns.” SAMWU spokesperson Papikie Mohale said.
