38 Children, aged between 4 and 7, have been injured yesterday afternoon
after their school bus overturned at the Shive and Regina Road intersection in
Northdale, Pietermaritsburg.
ER24 spokesperson Russel Meiring explains….
“ When ER24 paramedics, along with
other services, arrived on scene, they found a school bus lying on its side
against a residence wall. Children from the bus were found walking around on
scene.”
On assessment, paramedics found
that 38 children had sustained minor injuries in the collision.
He says “Paramedics treated the
patients and thereafter transported them to various hospitals for further
treatment. It is understood that the driver lost control of the vehicle,
causing it to roll.”
