In a statement issued, the African Christian Democratic Party says, it welcomes the Supreme Court of Appeals judgement which confirmed the Public Protectors Powers in dismissing the SABC COO’s Hlaudi Motsoeneng’s appeal against an earlier Western Cape High Court order.

ACDP’s Steve Swart says “In our view, this decision vindicates powers of the Public Protector in as much the Public Protector’s remedial findings are binding and cannot be set aside other than by a Court order.”

He says that “This is significant for the purposes of the Inkandla issue where we saw parliament accepting the Minister of Police’s report which exonerated President Jacob Zuma and said he did not had to pay back anything.”
