The Mayor of the City of Cape Town Patricia De Lile announced that Cape Town has been internationally  recognised as fighting against climate change.

“We are committed to a future which is more energy secure, more resource efficient and resilient to the impact of climate change.” Spokesperson for the Executive Mayor Patricia De Lille Zara Nicholson said.

Two weeks ago, the city was announced at International Climate Week in New York, as one of the top ten cities that meet the planning and reporting requirements of the Compact Mayors.
