WC MEC for Comm Safety conducted an oversight visit in Hout Bay

Today, Western Cape MEC of Community Safety, Dan Plato conducted a safety oversight walkabout in the community of Imizamo Yethu in Hout Bay.

Spokesperson for the MEC, Ewald Botha says, joined by the local neighbourhood watches, community policing forum and the South African Police Services, engage with members of the community on their safety concerns.

Botha says “Minister Plato engaged with various members of the community on their concerns in general. He specifically spoke to the increasing scenes of violence attack which have happened a couple of weeks ago, and how the community can assist in diverting from vigilante attacks.”


He says “Minister Plato was also informed by local community leaders about other things that impact them on their safety concerns such as adequate street lighting in some of the areas.”
