11% increase in Cape Town international tourists

The Western Cape is set to receive a boost in tourism numbers.

Figures published for October show there were 69,000 international arrivals at Cape Town airport this represents an increase of 10,000 from October of last year.

Bronwynne Jooste who is the spokesperson for the MEC of Economic Opportunities in Western Cape explains, that an average 11% increase has been seen in the numbers of international arrivals.


“MEC Winde said this is good because for every 12 tourists to come to our country one job is created” Jooste said.
