Today the Democratic Alliance proposed
26 amendments to the adjusted budget, to make available R904 million to fund
the shortfall resulting from the 0% student fees increase in the 2015/16
Financial Year.
The Standing Committee on
Appropriations met this morning to consider the adjustments Appropriation Bill
in ahead tomorrow’s debate on the adjusted budget in the National Assemmbly.
The DA’s
Graham Charters added that “The
Department of Higher Education is seemingly looking towards disadvantage universities
to get fees within the current budget.”
