A man shoots two people dead, serious injures three other and a senior police

Two people were shot dead and three including a senior police officer, were seriously injured when a gunman opened fire at a biker rally in Hawston near Hermanus over the week-end. Western Cape police said the man started shooting at the victims following an argument. Western Cape Police spokes-person, Constable Noloyiso Rwexana said.

“We can confirm that a 26 year old is expected to appear in Hermanus Magistrate Court facing charges of murder and attempted murder, after an incident which occurred yesterday morning at 01:45”.

“According to the report an argument occurred between the victim and the suspect. The suspect started shooting at the victim especially wounding a 19 year old and a 43 year old”.


“An off-duty police officer stationed at Hermanus was shot, he is in a critical condition with two other victims. The suspect will be appearing in court tomorrow”.
