Following the allegations in early January regarding Marius Fransman’s alleged sexual behaviour with a 20 year old, Mark Wiley, DA Chief Whip wrote to the Registrar of the Western Cape Provincial Parliament, to find out if in fact an investigation was underway into Mr Fransman alleged conduct.

Mark Willey said “relating to the alleged incident that Mr Fransman has been involved in.
I wrote to the registrar and asked just to verify if a charge has been made.

We spent some 10 days speaking to provincial commissioners, officer and provincial communications officer in the North West province and Northern Cape.

Nowhere could we get a straight answer as to whether a charge has been laid or a docket has been opened or an investigation officer.

We are nowhere near the truth of the matter. What is of great concern is that the media has said there’s an investigation but we can’t have a investigating without a charge having been laid.”
