Three suspects have been detained for questioning in connection with the murder of a teenage girl in Cape Town.

Sixteen-year-old Franziska Blöchliger’s body was found earlier this week in Tokai forest, hours after she was reported missing.

Blöchliger's father, Florian, posted a message on his Facebook page after she went missing, pleading for information to help find his daughter.

Police Captain Andre Traut says two suspects between the ages of 22 and 27 are detained in questioning related to the murder of the teenager.

The circumstances surrounding the matter are still being investigated, he concluded.
