Former Hawks boss and co-accused receive bail

The National Prosecution Authority confirmed that former Hawks boss, Anwa Dramat, and his co accused were granted R5 000 bail in the Pretoria Magistrate's Court on Friday, NPA spokesperson, Luvuyo Mfaku, said Dramat appeared in court along with his co-accused, suspended Hawks boss, Major General Shadrack Sibiya and Captain Lesley Maluleke.

He said..."The three men were released on bail, the case was postponed till May 6 for disclosure of the docket," he told News24, adding that they would appear again in May.


The charges are linked to a rendition case that allegedly resulted in the torture and killing of two Zimbabweans. Mfaku said Dramat and his co-accused were facing charges of kidnapping, defeating the ends of justice and contravening the Immigration Act.
