The Hawks have confirmed that they will investigate the Gupta family's alleged ties to government following complaints laid by the Democratic Alliance.
In recent weeks several prominent politicians have come forward to say the Guptas allegedly offered them ministerial positions.

Hawks spokesperson, Robert Netshiunda says: "We can confirm that we have received two complaints from the Democratic Alliance against the Guptas and others from Cape Town and Gauteng".

"As the Hawks we are going to investigate it as the law mandates us to investigate without fear, favour or prejudice." "We therefore appeal to the members of the media and the public to give us space to conduct our investigations without any interference.

He concluded by saying "We hope that this matter, with their cooperation, will be solved within a short space of time."
