Minister for Cooperative
Governance and Traditional Affairs, Des Van Rooyen says a date for this year's
local government elections will be announced soon.
Van Rooyen was speaking with
SABC News on the side while attending a church service in the North West on
Sunday.
He says his department is
still awaiting the ruling on the leave to appeal the electoral court ruling on
the Tlokwe by-elections in Potchefstroom.
The electoral court has since ruled that, the
electoral commission supply voters roll with voters addresses.
