SJC says the SAPS has failed to address injustice

The Social Justice Coalition in a statement says it is unfortunate that at national level, the South African Police Service has failed to address injustice. This follows the rape and brutal murder of Sinoxolo Mafevuka and Franziska Blochliger. SJC’s Chumile Sali explains…

“The issue we are demanding is the redistribution of police officials, adequately. Because SAPS currently have deployed more police resources in white affluent areas and yet in the unsafe communities like Khayelitsha, Kraaifontein, Delft, Mitchells Plein, there are less police officials”.

“Even the issue of private detectives, there are lesser detectives in the black communities”.

He concluded by saying…“Even this Noxolo’s murder, her body was found on the 3rd of March and yet the investigation only started on the date Deputy Minister visited Noxolo’s family”.
