Metrorail has had enough about the train being burnt

A train and four carriages were set alight at midnight on Thursday night and defective signals were reported, bringing trains on at least two lines in Cape Town to a crushing stop on Friday for over two hours.

Hundreds of travellers were forced to alight from halted trains on Friday morning and started to walk to work along the tracks.


It is now open warfare between criminals and Metrorail in the Western Cape, regional manager Richard Walker warned on Friday calling it is “a blockade", Walker said another four carriages were destroyed by fire in the Kraaifontein staging yard shortly after midnight. The affected train-set was
