Traffic between Breidbach and
government’s State House in Bhisho was disrupted as residents of the township
protested over housing.
About 50 protesters, under the
banner of the Breidbach Home Seekers, closed of a lane on the main road leading
to the province’s seat of government.
According to community leader
Denzel Smith the Buffalo City Metro had identified land for building houses but
defaulted on the promise.
Last month the residents embarked
on a violent protest that shutdown the N2 as petrol bombs and rubber bullets
flew.
