Heavy rain is expected in Cape Town and other parts of the Western Cape from this evening, a City disaster risk management official has warned.

Spokesperson Charlotte Powell said the SA Weather Service warning was applicable to the Cape Metropole, Overberg, Cape Winelands and southern parts of the West Coast district.

The rain is expected to last until Wednesday. As a result, flooding could be possible in some areas.
