The South African National
Editors Forum says it will request a meeting with ANN7 Editor Moegsien Williams
following the alleged dismissal of eight staff members at the television
station.
It's understood the
employees were fired on Friday and a further 12 others received final written
warnings.
The group allegedly chased
African National Congress Youth League President Collen Maine away
from their Midrand
offices in April, when he tried to address them following an
open letter sent out on behalf of Oakbay workers.
The letter was an appeal to
four South African banks to restore relations with the Gupta-owned company saying
their livelihoods were at stake.
