Man dies after apparent house robbery

A man sadly died after being shot at a house in the early hours of this morning.


ER24 Joburg South paramedics were dispatched to a call just after 3am for an apparent house robbery in Meredale, Johannesburg.


It is believed that the man (66), was trying to defend his family when he was shot. Paramedics found him in a room with injuries to the head.


Sadly there was nothing that could be done for him when he was declared dead.


The rest of the family, which included three young children, were unharmed. The exact details surrounding the incident are unknown.



Meanwhile, a man was sadly found dead in a vehicle on the R59 by the Michelle Avenue off-ramp, in Alberton, early this morning.



ER24 paramedics arrived on scene and found the vehicle on the side of the road in the bushes.


Metro Police were on scene. The man was in the vehicle and all the doors were locked.


Paramedics gained access to the man by breaking a window.


Upon assessment of the man believed to be 67-years-old, it was found that he was dead. There were no visible physical injuries on the man.


It is believed that he may have died following a medical-related condition.


An autopsy will determine the exact cause of death.
