Two people arrested for the murder of a
Metrorail train driver will appear in court today.
Piet Botha was shot and
killed in a robbery at the Netreg train station near Bonteheuwel earlier this
week.
Acting on a tip-off, police arrested two suspects in neighbouring Bishop
Lavis yesterday. Police say one of the men was found in possession of the gun
believed to be the murder weapon.
In a separate incident, the body of a
20-year-old man was found near the station yesterday.
The Community Policing
Forum’s Graham Lind-horst said that there have been no arrests in connection with
the shooting of the 20-year-old man, who was gunned down in full view of the
public.
