African National Congress Secretary
General, Gwede Mantashe, allegedly said that the party’s Western Cape leader,
Marius Fransman, would face the ANC’s national disciplinary committee following
a complaint of sexual harassment levelled against him.
The City Press newspaper reported on
Sunday that the ANC’s integrity committee recommended that Fransman step down
from his position for bringing the party into disgrace.
The committee investigated claims of
sexual assault brought against the politician by his 21-year-old personal
assistant, Louisa Wynand.
But Mantashe has denied this, saying
the committee only recommended one thing.
