Cape Town, Western Cape police yesterday said that a bag containing various arms and explosives was uncovered in a cemetery in Kleinvlei.
Lieutenant-Colonel Andre Traut confirmed that the bag was found buried in Welmoed cemetery on Tuesday night.
It contained a hunting rifle with a telescope, a silencer, a smoke grenade, stun grenade, seven detonators, three R4 rifle magazines and various rounds of ammunition.
Two blasting caps were wrapped in a Zimbabwean newspaper.
Some of the items were known to be used in ATM explosions.
No one had yet been arrested.
