A judge says the man who beheaded a Ravensmead teenager has no respect for life.
Aljar Swartz was sentenced to 22 years behind bars yesterday in the High Court.
Swartz, who was 17 years old at the time of the offence, murdered lee Adams in 2013.
Judge Elize Steyn found the convicted murderer was a manipulative liar, who liked attention and power. Steyn also found Swartz’s claim that he was possessed by demons at the time of the murder, was a calculated lie.
The judge found it was more likely that he was hallucinating due to his continues use of alcohol.
Steyn agreed with phycologist and psychiatrist testimony that he lacks remorse, has psychopathic traits and does not take responsibility for his actions.
